NSA wiretapping illegal
I saw this story about how a federal judge ruled the NSA's wiretapping-sans-warrant program to be illegal in this morning's New York Times and I thought it was particularly timely given this week's discussion. The court ruled that the government violated FISA in the wiretapping program; apparently the Justice Department had ruled that the court should not be ruling on the merits of the case because it would reveal state secrets -- classic excuse. The suit was brought by Al Haramain, a former charity.
